Center Fire Department's In-House Fire Prevention Programs:
Center Fire Department maintains a smokehouse trailer that makes its way to elementary schools throughout the county teaching children the skills that they need in order to safely get out of their homes in the event of a fire.
Basic concepts taught through the smokehouse are as follows:
Fireplace Safety
Use of the E-911 System
Importance of a meeting place outside of the home in the event of a cause for evacuation
Kitchen safety
Ensuring a safe exit path in the event of a fire to include a simulated exit from a smoke-filled bedroom
Importance of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors

The next depicts fire conditions in the home. The third describes portable fire extinguishers. The last video shows how to escape from your home under various scenarios and loosely mirrors the information that we provide at our fire safety house.
